Review | Skincare Villa Anti Acne Face Pack & Anti Acne Face Cleanser

Summer season in India can take a toll on just anyone’s skin! Well, the summery heat and pollution surely did a great damage to my skin this time. I have experienced multiple acne breakouts in the past 2-3 months. The stubborn cystic acne and whiteheads either keep on coming again and again or leave nasty dark spots behind on my face that refuse to go away! I have been trying to tackle my acne problem with only natural products and I have somehow managed to eliminate harmful chemicals from my skincare routine. Needless to say, this step has been quite helpful for my skin!

Neem, a natural ingredient which we Indians refer as a “universal healer”, is known to reduce acne with its anti inflammatory properties. It was the first natural ingredient I came to know about that helps with acne. Over the time, I got introduced to many other awesome natural ingredients like different types of essential oils and clays. Most of my knowledge about skincare came from Sonali of Skincare Villa blog. And today, I am going to review two of her own creations: Skincare Villa Anti Acne Face Pack & Anti Acne Face Cleanser which are invigorated with natural, acne healing ingredients I just mentioned above. Keep on reading to know how they minimized my acne problem significantly!

My Take On Skincare Villa Anti Acne Face Pack & Anti Acne Face Cleanser

I have been using both of these products along with the Skincare Villa Oats Almond Cleanser from a month now. They all come in similar packaging. I don’t want to talk much about the packaging much because I want to quickly tell you all about the goodness of these two products! First we will talk about the Anti Acne Face Pack.

This face pack is in powdered form and the powder is of pale green colour, which the camera failed to capture as always! It has a soothing fragrance of neem as neem powder is one of its ingredients. I really love the fragrance because it smells a bit similar to petrichor! ❤ Its fragrance does not linger on the skin for long after the face pack has been washed off. You can change its fragrance by mixing it with rose water, but I don’t have it yet so I prefer to mix it with plain water and make a fine paste. You may keep the consistency thick or thin, as per your liking. That is the benefit of using powder based products!

I like to make a thick paste and apply its thick layer so that I can keep it for long on my face. The face pack’s thin layer takes about 7-10 minutes to dry. It dries super fast when I am sitting under the fan or in an Air Conditioned room, that is why I apply its thick layer – and get the most out of it! ? Once it has dried off, I spalsh a little water on my face and use circular, exfoliating motions to remove it. Its texture becomes somewhat scrub-like while I am washing it off. This face pack also acts like an exfoliator and gets rid of the dead skin cells from my nose area! Its main claim is to reduce acne as it contains anti acne ingredients and honestly, it has reduced the small bumps I get on my forehead and sometimes below my eyes (usually do to products residues).

It dries out any whiteheads immediately or after a couple of uses, for cystic acne, you need to give it more time and be patient. I get cystic acne very frequently (hormones are to blame) so I know how stubborn and painful they are. This Anti Acne face pack has helped me to reduce the size of my cystic acne and now I am trying to use it regularly to fade away their marks. I currently have combination skin – dry patches on the nose and oily skin on the rest of my face. The face pack gets rid of excess oil from my face, but it doesn’t make the dry areas on my face even drier.

I remember using patanjali neem face pack (I have reviewed it on the blog as well) which dried my skin like crazy and also didn’t help me with my acne. After having a bad experience with it, I had lost the hopes for neem based products working on my skin. But this face pack proved me wrong because it has worked so well on my skin till now! I am still trying to use it in every three days.

Let’s jump into the review of Skincare Villa Anti Acne Face Cleanser.

The cleanser is of yellowish green colour. Its colour becomes green when it is mixed with water. So while you have this on your face as a face pack, you can pretend that you are a zombie and scare off some people maybe! ? Jokes apart, I found this product to be as effective as the Anti Acne Face Pack. Even though it is meant to be a face cleanser, I use it as a face pack – to give it time to treat my acne. Its fragrance differs from that of Anti Acne Face Pack. Sonali, the owner of Skincare Villa says that the smell is mainly of the tea tree essential oil that it contains. I have never used tea tree essential oil before so I didn’t know what it smells like exactly.

Other than that, this product also contains Neem Powder along with Multani Mitti (fullers earth) that gives a cooling effect to the skin. The other two ingredients, Gram Flour (besan) and Amla (Indian gooseberry) powder too serve benefits for our skin. Overall, I share the same experience with this product as I did with the face pack. ?

What I liked about Skincare Villa Anti Acne Face Pack & Anti Acne Face Cleanser

  • They come at pocket friendly prices.
  • They are made with anti inflammatory ingredients like neem powder and tea tree essential oil that are well known for reducing acne.
  • They detoxify the skin and get rid of excess amount of sebum. A boon for people with oily skin in this humid weather!
  • They heal and reduce whiteheads as well as acne. They help with cystic acne too, but as I said, you have to give both of the products some time to work.
  • Customizable and easy to use.
  • Free of harmful chemicals and preservatives. Still, they have good shelf life!
