Best Face Scrubs in India: We are all living a fast-paced life full of daily bustles, that doesn’t allow us the chance to realize how often we let our skin get exposed to so much dirt, pollutants, chemicals, and other factors that cause damage to our skin. Most of us follow the usual CTM – cleansing, toning, and moisturizing skincare routine but forget about one of the most important parts of skincare – exfoliation!
Using a face scrub is a crucial step in order to achieve smooth skin with clean facial pores and an even texture. No matter what your skin type may be, you should always use the best face scrub that is available for you!
With this article, I am going to share the list of best face scrubs in India.
I have not included any face scrubs from the brands that are not cruelty-free and have mostly given preference to those with zero chemicals!
Best Face Scrubs in India
1. mCaffeine Coffee Exfoliating Face Scrub
This post would be incomplete if I didn’t mention India’s current favourite brand which is topping the charts for its exfoliators! The brand is none other than mCaffeine which went viral with its caffeine based-skincare and haircare range. I have been using their coffee body scrub for the longest time.
I got a chance to try out their Exfoliating Face Scrub while purchasing samples from Smytten. It has the same energizing coffee fragrance as that of their famous coffee body scrub. The texture of this face scrub is perfect to slough off the impurities present deep within your skin’s pores.
2. Biotique Papaya Tan Removal Brightening & Revitalizing Face Scrub in India For All Skin Types
I have emptied I don’t know how many tubs of Biotique’s papaya face and body scrub! If you are under a budget and you want the best natural skincare products for yourself, Biotique is here to rescue you. Their affordable face and body scrubs are highly effective and gentle, for smooth and clean skin. The ones I used to use came in tubs, the Biotique Papaya Tan Removal Face Scrub comes in affordable tube packaging.
The papaya content in this scrub helps to reduce tan and uneven skin tone, offering you an enhanced complexion while improving your skin’s texture too. Alongside Papaya seed extracts, it also has banana fruit pulp, dates pulp, neem bark, and a ton of other natural ingredients to pamper your skin with.
3. Mamaearth Ubtan Scrub For Face with Turmeric & Walnut
You would rarely find me talking about Mamaearth’s products because honestly, they have never worked for my skin and hair. However, their Ubtan Face scrub is an exceptional-exception! I have probably repurchased this Ubtan face scrub thrice because it is my mother’s favourite product too.
Inspired by traditional Indian formulations of Ubtans, this scrub contains Turmeric for enhancing skin tone and walnut beads to exfoliate away dead skin cells, dirt build-up, and blackheads. I believe this product is suitable for all skin types because its walnut particles are not that abrasive.
If you want to try out a product from Mamaearth’s skincare range, this should be the one. It is easy to use and wash off, unlike their Ubtan face pack. Furthermore, it doesn’t leave your skin feeling dry and parched. I suggest toning and moisturizing your skin properly every time you exfoliate your face (with any scrub) to restore hydration and nourishment to your skin.
4. The Face Shop Jeju Volcanic Lava Foam Scrub
Are you looking for a gentle face scrub which is suitable for your sensitive skin type that gets irritated easily? I suggest giving a shot to TFS Jeju Volcanic Lava Foam Scrub. This iconic K-beauty product is effective in gently removing blackheads, whiteheads, as well as skin tan. It contains volcanic ash and mud extracts from the Jeju Islands, making it a one-of-a-kind formulation available in the Indian beauty sphere.
5. Plum Chamomile & White Tea Brighten Up Face Scrub
For a skin-soothing experience, opt for this chamomile and white tea enriched face scrub!
Since chamomile is a calming and skin-soothing ingredient, after using this scrub from Plum Goodness, you will instantly get a renewed and refreshed skin! Talking about white tea, it comes power packed with antioxidants that eliminate harsh free radicals and work their magic on acne. White tea also contains phenols that boost collagen production, thus improving your skin’s elasticity and making it appear more youthful.
You may want to try out the whole of Plum’s Chamomile and White Tea range in combination to get the most out of these ingredients.
6. Ayuga 5% Kumkumadi Skin Radiance Face Scrub
I instantly fell in love with the concept of Ayuga when I heard its founder, Ghazal Alagh talking about it. It is a combination of two words – Ayurveda and Yoga, both of which are the best holistic care for your skin and overall health. The Ayuga 5% Kumkumadi Skin Radiance Face Scrub is enriched with Ayurveda’s secret gem for the skin – The kumkumadi oil which is a unique blend of saffron and other exotic herbs.
This powerful concoction of several Ayurvedic herbs enhances your skin’s appearance by reducing dark spots, uneven skin tone, and pigmentation. It also gives you visible results against premature signs of aging.
Ayuga’s face scrub is formulated with 5% of this miraculous oil. It also has Shea butter, cocoa butter, vitamin C, and a handful of other natural goodness. I would recommend this face scrub for dry skin as its ingredients are quite moisturizing!
7. St Ives Energizing Face Scrub Coconut & Coffee
This Face Scrub is my #1 favourite for my skin type. Aside from its exfoliation properties, I love its sweet and energizing smell. The texture of this St Ives face scrub is neither too runny nor too thick.
Some may find its scrub particles harsh for their skin, but trust me – it works wonders if you use it gently on your skin. I tend to get dry patches on my forehead and the sides of my nose, so I make sure to use this scrub in gentle motions around these areas. It is highly effective in removing dead skin cells. I usually don’t get blackheads, hence I cannot comment on how well it works to get rid of them. But 10/10 I would recommend this product to others.
The only problem with this face scrub is that it doesn’t come in a smaller pack, which you could purchase to give it a try. I have only purchased 170g tubes of this scrub. It is not easy to travel with this gigantic tube and furthermore, when you are trying it for the first time, you may probably want to buy a smaller quantity. This facial exfoliator by St. Ives is also my mother’s favourite! It is good to be used on the neck area as well.
8. Coco Soul Face Scrub
Coco Soul, a brand known for its extra virgin coconut oils, is owned by Marico India. It entered the beauty space in India not too long ago and its skincare products are already becoming popular among beauty enthusiasts in the country. The Coco Soul Face Scrub has an Ayurveda-inspired formulation, with the presence of venivel, saffron, sandalwood, and coconut oil. The brand has not provided a full list of its ingredients. Either way, it is a vegan, paraben-free, silicone-free, and mineral oil-free product.
9. Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant Exfoliant
Have you ever seen this top dermatologist-recommended exfoliator in powder form? If not, you are probably yet to be introduced to the world-famous Dermalogica Daily “Microfoliant”. As I mentioned above, it is a product that a lot of dermatologists across the world prescribe to their patients as it is a gentle yet effective exfoliant for all types of skin.
It comes in powder form, to use the Microfoliant you need to take out the powder onto your palms and mix it with some water to create a creamy paste out of it for exfoliating your skin. Apply the paste to your face and gently scrub in circular motions, then wash it off.
Some of the top ingredients of this unique face scrub are Licorice, rice, papain, and salicylic acid. It is an ideal face scrub for acne-prone oily skin because of its salicylic acid content.
10. WOW Skin Science Pure Charcoal Collagen Production Face Scrub

12. Pilgrim Red Vine Face Scrub With Mulberry & Aloe
With a premium red vine formulation amalgamated with aloe and mulberry, this “Vinotherapy” face scrub by pilgrim gives you a rejuvenated and glowing skin in a few uses! It is inspired by French beauty secrets which involves the usage of “vine” for skincare to purify the skin. It is imported from a chateau based in the South West of France. Pilgrim has a whole range of skincare products with the Vinotherapy concept that you can try in combination with this face scrub.
13. Aqualogica Glow+ Crunchy Face Scrub in India
Aqualogica is sister brand of Ayuga and Mamaearth, launched with a concept of crafting “hydrating” water-based skincare products for the Indian skin. Since India is a country with a humid environment, our skin needs more hydration and less moisturization from products with thick viscosity, to appear plump and healthy! To be specific, we as Indians should include more humectants in our skincare routine, taking hyaluronic acid as an example.
The Glow+ Crunchy Face Scrub is loaded with Papaya and Vitamin C for bright skin. It refines the skin texture and targets uneven skintone. Its “water lock technology” brings the science of aquaporins to the forefront, and locks in hydration across all layers of the skin.
It is priced quite affordably, considering its unique technology and the potent ingredients present in its formulation.

Below, I am answering some of the most common questions that people have regarding facial scrubbing.
Can I use a face scrub daily on my face?
No. You should only scrub your face twice or thrice a week. Daily exfoliation with a physical exfoliator can irritate your skin and also make your skin lose all its natural oils, making it extremely dry.
Can I use a scrub on acne breakouts?
Using face scrub on active pimples and breakouts can be a bit risky if you are not gentle enough! Use it on small zits, minor acne, and razor bumps only.
Is face scrub good for the skin?
Our skin has the natural ability to shed dead skin and regenerate new skin cells. Face scrubbing often helps to speed up this process by getting rid of dead skin cells from the top layer of our skin, while also removing any impurities and dirt present within our facial pores. Scrubbing also has anti-aging benefits as it stimulates collagen production as well as blood flow towards the face!
