We have always been under the impression that the secret behind the beautiful skin and hair of Hollywood/Bollywood actresses must be expensive or luxury products. But recently, the very beautiful Priyanka Chopra quashed this “myth” when she shared 3 all-natural DIYs for skin and hair with Vogue. These DIYs are super easy and can be quickly made with the ingredients that are already available at your home itself!
3 Natural DIY Skin & Hair Secrets Of Priyanka Chopra
1. DIY Sea Salt Lip Scrub
Priyanka’s lips are one of her most prominent features (and she totally agrees to this! 😉). The secret behind her oh-so-pretty and pouty lips is her DIY Sea Salt lipscrub! You can make it with the ingredients listed below –
- Half tablespoon of Sea Salt.
- Vegetable Glycerin.
- Rose Water.
- A few drops of Lemon. This wasn’t mentioned by her, but I decided to add it because lemon helps to lighten pigmented lips. Don’t add a lot of it because it can start to sting if you have chapped lips.
Mix all of these ingredients together in a bowl and use the mixture to gently scrub your lips. Once you’re done, just wash off the excess scrub with water and apply your favorite lip balm. Scrub your lips at least twice a week so that they can always look naturally pink and pouty!
2. DIY Body Exfoliator / Ubtan
Ubtan is a traditional Indian recipe for the beautification of the skin. It’s a well-known beauty secret of Indian women. The Baywatch actress also swears by this DIY body exfoliator/scrub or Ubtan. To make it, you will need –
- 1 cup of Besan (Chickpeas flour/Gram flour).
- 1 big tablespoon of Plain Dahi (Curd/Yogurt).
- ½ tablespoon of Chandan powder (Sandalwood powder).
- A pinch of Turmeric.
- Some milk.
Make a thick paste out of these ingredients and apply it on your whole body (arms, legs, neck and face). Leave it on until it has completely dried. At this point, you can either wash it off with warm water or you can scrub it off using your fingers. The latter option will be good if you want to get rid of all those unwanted hair on your body and face because it will scrub them away. This quick DIY will instantly remove any kind of tan or dullness from your skin and make it appear brighter! The turmeric present in this mask may leave a slight yellow tint on your skin, but it won’t look too obvious and will go away after you’ve taken a shower.

3. DIY Scalp Treatment / Hair Mask
Now we have come to the last DIY shared by PeeCee which is for our scalp and hair. Well, I don’t remember Priyanka having long hair ever. She either sports short or medium length hairstyles which I always fall in love with! Her hair is really bouncy and healthy. She mentioned that this scalp treatment is really good for those with dry, itchy scalp or dandruff issue! Below are the ingredients for it –
- 2-3 tablespoons of Dahi (Curd/Yogurt).
- 2 teaspoons of Honey.
- 1 Brown Egg. (You will need to add both, the egg yolk and the white part)
Stir these ingredients well and apply the hair treatment to your scalp for 30 minutes. Wash it off properly and try to avoid using a (chemical based) shampoo if you can. It might smell bad due to the presence of egg, but it will deeply condition and nourish your scalp as well as the hair roots. If you are a vegetarian and your mom doesn’t allow you to bring eggs at home (just like my mom does! 😛) then you can replace the egg with Coconut Oil or Olive Oil!
