A body lotion is something that you are required to use all year around to keep your skin moisturized and hydrated.

Usually, body lotions are not that expensive, but the ones available in the market are mostly loaded with harmful chemicals and parabens. So if you have sensitive skin or if you are allergic to such chemicals, then try out this DIY body lotion which is completely natural and safe for your skin! Here are the ingredients that you will need –

DIY Natural Body Lotion Ingredients

  • Jojoba Oil
  • Argan Oil
  • Grated Beeswax
  • Essential Oils of your choice (optional)
  • Warm Water

How To Make

Melt the grated beeswax along with the oils in a double boiler. Take 3/4th cup of warm water in a food processor and then slowly add the melted mixture to it, a little by little.

You can add essential oils to the mixture at the end, but it is an optional step. If you don’t have a food processor, then you can mix the water with melted beeswax using a spatula or a whisk.

Body butters look super appetizing, don’t they? ? They are a life saver for people with extremely dry, flaky and scaly skin as well as a must use product during dry weather.

Body butters can be easily made at home, the only  difficult part is finding raw ingredients that are required to make them as the ingredients are not easily available in India. Below is a list of ingredients you would need to make a quick whipped body butter.

DIY Natural Body Butter Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup of Shea Butter
  • 1/4 cup of Cocoa Butter
  • 1/4 cup of Coconut Oil
  • 1/4 cup of Argan Oil
  • Essential Oils of your choice

How To Make

Take all the ingredients (except essential oils) in a double boiler and wait for them to melt. Keep stirring the pot until all the ingredients are melted. Remove the melted mixture from heat and let it set for a while. You can add essential oils at this step. Once it has set, whip the mixture with a whisker or a hand mixer.

Our facial skin requires a daily dose of moisturization to look healthy and glowy! Treat your skin with a 100% natural facial moisturizer that can be quickly made at home with these ingredients –

DIY Natural Face Moisturizer Ingredients

  • Shea Butter
  • Jojoba Oil
  • Aloe Vera Gel or Juice
  • Essential Oils

How To Make

Melt Shea butter and jojoba oil using the double boiler process and then add the aloe vera gel/juice to the mixture. Take it off the heat and whip the mixture for good 10-15 minutes, until it is smooth enough. Add essential oils of your choice, I will recommend adding neem essential oil or tea tree essential oil if you have acne prone skin and lavender essential oil for dry/normal skin.

And this second moisturizer is for people with oily skin! It is very lightweight and would clog your pores. Here are the ingredients for the same –

DIY Face Moisturizer For Oily Skin Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons Hemp Seed Oil
  • 5 tablespoons Jojoba Oil
  • 2 tablespoons Beeswax
  • 1 tablespoon Aloe Vera Gel (would be great if you can get fresh gel)

How To Make

Again, for this recipe, the oils and the beeswax need to be melted through a double boiler process. Once you have removed it from the heat, the mixture will start to solidify. Whip / blend it only when it is totally cool and lastly, add aloe vera gel.

Using body scrub is a great way of getting rid of tan on the body. It also exfoliates away all the dry and dead skin cells on your body. Here is a simple body scrub made with orange peels, you will need –

DIY Orange Body Scrub Ingredients

  • Orange Peel Powder (available in the market) or Orange Peels
  • Sandalwood Powder (also known as Chandan Powder)
  • Dried Rose Powder or Dried Rose Petals

How To Make

If you are not able to find orange peel powder in the market then you can make it by yourself by taking dried orange peels (just put the peels under the sunlight for a few days) and grinding them in a mixer.

You can do the same thing to get dried rose powder. Mix all three ingredients well and use the mixture to scrub your neck, arms and legs at least twice a week to see suitable results. You can add a little bit of honey to the mixture to make the scrub less harsh for your skin.

6. DIY Homemade Lip Scrub

  • Peppermint Essential Oil
  • Cinnamon Essential Oil (if you want the pumping effect, use it carefully!)
