Hey friends! From today, I am starting a new series on the blog where I will write about 5 skincare, haircare or makeup products that are under Rs.500 (that’s about $7-8 USD only!). I might or might not have tried all the products mentioned in these series, but, please be assured that I will only mention the best ones available in the market! ☺ So let’s get started with our first post.
Top 5 Skincare Products Under Rs.500 ($8 USD) | Vol. 1
1. Patanjali Aloe Vera Gel
Ever since its launch, the Patanjal Aloe Vera Gel has been a staple product in every Indian girl’s beauty stash. It is a completely natural aloe vera gel that can be used in many ways. You can use it directly on your face to hydrate and soothe your skin, or you can mix it with other ingredients like Besan (chickpea flour), Turmeric, etc, to make a hydrating face pack.
There are 1000s of different brands that make Aloe Vera Gel, but Patanjali has given us the most affordable option. It retails in two sizes, Rs.80 for 150ml and Rs.40 for 60ml. They also have one more variant called Patanjali Saundarya Aloe Vera Kesar Chandan Gel which contains saffron and sandalwood.
In India, this product can be bought from any grocery store or online shopping websites like Amazon or Flipkart. People from outside of India can find it on Amazon.com or Swamiramdevmedicines.com.
This is hands down, the best moisturizer I have tried so far. I have already done a full review of it on the blog which you can find here. It is perfect for all skin types, though oily skinned people might find it a bit annoying during these summers! 😝 It has to be one of the most affordable yet effective night cream available in India. You can always find it on discount if you buy it online from Amazon.
I am not too sure about the availability of Himalaya Herbals’ products in outside of India. I think they are widely available in the middle east, no idea about the UK/USA/AUS and other major countries. 😞 So my other recommendations will be – Pond’s Age Miracle Overnight Repair Dream Night Cream (for people over 25) and Garnier Skin Naturals White Complete Night Cream.
My mom is currently using the pond’s one at the moment and she loves it!
3. LOTUS Sunscreens
Lotus Sunscreens are the most trusted sunscreens in India. There are 2-3 variants of sunscreens in the Lotus Sun Safe range, they all have different SPF Factors – SPF 30, SPF 40 and SPF 50. They also have a body lotion which has an SPF of 25. A must try range if you are looking for a good sunscreen!
My most favourite scrub of all time! One tube of this scrub costs only Rs.60/- and it lasts really long. I was going to repurchase this while placing my recent Amazon order, but I somehow forgot about it. One thing is sure that I am never going to find a good scrub at this price range, so I am gonna repurchase it again and again! It is suitable for all skin types, but if you have sensitive skin, then you might find it a bit harsh. To others, I recommend using it twice a week to get better results.

Not able to find this scrub in your country? Try the ST.Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Face Scrub instead.
5. LipIce Sheer Color Lip Balm
I don’t know if lip balms come in the skincare category, but I still want to mention this one here because I am too lazy to create a “lipcare products under Rs.500” category. 😛 The LipIce Sheer Color Lip Balm is a magical lip balm that changes colour according to the pH level of your lips. It keeps the lips moisturized and its stain stays on the lips for really long! You can read my full review of this lip balm here. I have also reviewed and swatched another product from LipIce which is also a lip balm, but it is way more pigmented than this one and has tiny shimmers in it!
