“The colour pink makes everything look pretty” I totally agree with this line! Even though pink is my third favourite colour, I still can’t resist adoring anything pink! So here I am, to review and swatch this adorable gradient (or ombré?) pink blush from Essence..

Essence Blush Up Powder Blush – Pinky Flow
Essence Blush Up! Pinky Flow comes in a sleek, square shaped transparent packaging. The lid closes really tightly with a snap. It doesn’t come with a mirror or a brush (brushes that come with makeup products are useless anyways).
My take First of all, I loveee it’s packaging! It’s just that one needs to be careful while using and storing it otherwise it will break or the lid will get scratches. The gradient (or ombré?) effect makes it more especial because you are getting 3 shades at the price of one. Look at the swatches below..

These are the 3 shades I am talking about, I’ll name them Dark pink (left), Medium pink (middle) and Light/pastel pink (right). You can use these shades individually or altogether, depends on the look you’re going for. I don’t find it hard to pick up an individual shade with brush because they’re spaced properly.
Another good thing is that it doesn’t have any shimmers in it (if you see any shimmers in swatch photo #1 it’s ONLY because of crappy flash, just believe what you see in photo #2) making it wearable to work/college or school. And did I mention that this baby is super-duper pigmented? Especially the darkest pink, you will have to work on blending it properly otherwise you’ll end up with a clown face. 😛 I like the lightest shade the most because I feel that it suits my skin tone well.
There is one more variant of this Blush and it’s called “heat wave”, you can check it out on their website – http://essence.eu (Warning: Once you see their collection you’ll feel like buying the whole factory of Essence :P).
What I like about Essence Blush Up – Pinky Flow • Affordable (you’re getting 3 shades at the price of one).
• Highly pigmented.
• Doesn’t feel chalky/Doesn’t aggravate acne.
• Gives a natural looking flush to cheeks.
• Provides matte finish.
• You can create multiple looks with this, be it intense party/festive look or subtle day time look for work/college. 🙂
What I don’t like about Essence Blush up – Pinky Flow • The packaging may break easily.
