WHY SWITCH TO ALL NATURAL LIPSTICKS?

Did you know ? “Your lips absorb up to 60% of what you place on it.”
After eyes, lips are probably the most attractive and noticeable part of a woman’s face. So, to ensure true beauty is captured by the eyes of the beholder, your lips and eyes have to be at their attractive best. It is normal for girls to apply some lipstick before walking out for office or some all-girls party or romantic date or even for shopping. Even girls who do not prefer applying make-up, opt for atleast a lipstick to get that bright look on their beautiful face.

Lipstick is one such cosmetic product that gets consumed by us. Even for women who use nail polish remover or other make-up remover tools, lipstick is probably the last thing that gets removed.

More often than not, major portion of the applied lipstick is either absorbed by the lips or consumed by you while eating. As a matter of fact, your lips consume more than 60% of the applied lipstick (or lip balm). Now, this is a startling stat for women who apply lipsticks regularly. You would have heard stories about cosmetic products containing toxic ingredients as well as animal fat. Most of these hold true for lipstick products. This is all the more alarming as you unknowingly consume lots of artificial ingredients and chemicals which may not be good for your health.

Also, there is the fear meandering with regards to long-term damage caused to your lips by regular usage of artificially composed lipsticks.

All these reasons are enough for any woman to stop using lipsticks frequently or start using one which contains less artificial components. And if you are a pure vegetarian woman with increasing concern about the possibility of animal fat being present in your lipstick, you can simply opt for naturally-powered Organistick and put all such worries to rest. There has never been a more strong case of switching to an all-natural lipstick like Organistick; your perfect remedy for beautiful, luscious and healthy lips!

Organistick Lipstick – Ingredients

Shea butter – Shea butter is an excellent natural moisturizer which is devoid of chemicals from lipsticks and other make up products. It provides extra nutrients that are needed during cold season and dry weather. It is highly effective in locking in moisture without leaving the lips greasy.

Jojoba oil – Jojoba oil is an all natural cure for chapped skin and nasty cuticles! Jojoba oil is similar to your skin’s natural sebum, making it ideal for moisturizing dry areas. One big bonus is that it contains almost all of the vitamins and minerals essential for healthy lips: vitamin E, B-complex, copper, zinc, selenium, iodine etc.

FD&C Colors – FD & C Colors are the Colors certified and allowed by the US for the Food, Pharmaceutical, Cosmetics & Personal Care industry. Not only was it advantageous to replenish color lost during processing, but it also gave new appeal to products lacking natural color.

Beeswax – It is an excellent emollient and support for moisturizers and it gives skin protective action of a non-occlusive type. It increases the protective action of sunscreens. Its elasticity and plasticity improve product efficacy by allowing thinner films.

Castor Oil – This hard and shiny oil can be found in most cosmetics and acts as a barrier agent and protective medium against harsh conditions and extremes. It is Very soothing to the skin when mixed into cosmetic applications. Known for its plethora of benefits and uses.

Carnauba Wax – Carnauba wax can produce a glossy finish especially when mixed with beeswax. Carnauba wax comes from the leaves of the Copernicia prunifera palm grown only in Brazil. Carnauba wax is a safe, non-toxic and inert ingredient.

Titanium Dioxides

My Take

The name “Organistick” really intrigued me into trying their lipstick. I didn’t think twice before buying it because of its nominal price. It took around 8 days to reach me (Amazon sucks!), I applied it as soon as it reached me :P. The colour didn’t show up properly in a single swipe so I went for second one. To my utter disappointment, the lipstick started to crumble on my lips as I was applying the second coat. I wiped it off and tried to apply it again. It was little less crumbly this time. I have worn this lipstick for 2-3 times since then, it still crumbles up if I am not careful enough during application. 🙁

The lipstick settles into a semi-matte finish within minutes, I use powder (compact/baby powder) to make it completely matte. It has average staying power of 3-4 hours, it leaves a nice pink tint after it fades. I think this lipstick can also be used as a lip balm since it contains hydrating ingredients like Beeswax & Shea butter! 🙂

The photo above was taken with my phone’s front camera that’s why it’s not clear. :/ I don’t remember exactly but I guess I am wearing 3 coats of lipstick here.

What I like about Organistick Lipstick in 19 Light Pink –

• Superrrrr cheap! Probably the most affordable lipstick(s) at present date.

• It’s pigmented enough.

• Comes in variety of shades. (For other lipsticks’ Swatches follow them on Instagram @Organistick).

• All the ingredients used in their lipsticks are organic. (Except titanium dioxide 😐 it’s not that harmful though! I have read about it) This is one of the very few brands in India which sells organic lipsticks.

What I don’t like about Organistick Lipstick in 19 Light Pink –

• It crumbles/becomes patchy during application.

• Lipstick is too fat for the bullet! It keeps getting damaged by the edges of the bullet. Manufacturing defect maybe?

• Needs to be stored in proper temprature otherwise it will either dry up or melt!

Will I repurchase/recommend this product?

Yes to both! I want to try their other shades like deep browns and nudes. I’ve seen the Swatches, they look super tempting!! :*

* the product was purchased with my own money.
