Hello pretty people! 🙂 How are you all? I was very busy last week. There was a wedding at our family friend’s house so we had to attend all the functions. You guys probably know about it already since I was updating everything on my Instagram account. 😛 I caught TERRIBLE cold and fever day after the wedding got over, I’m feeling a little better now so it’s time to get back to my usual routine (i.e – Eat, Sleep, Blog, Repeat :P). I reviewed Fuschia’s Anti-Ageing Night Cream last week and today I’ll be reviewing their lip balm in “Tropical Alphonso” flavour(uhmm this name makes me crave for mangoes ?). It came with a pretty potli (draw string) pouch pictured below. ❤ Read on to know more about it ..
Product Description
Alphonso Mangoes (or Hapus Aam in Hindi) are said to be the most sweetest and tastiest variant of mangoes ♥ This lip balm smells as delicious as the real mangoes! 😀 I have been using it NON-STOP ever since it reached me and I’m in love with it mostly because of its smell. 😛 It comes in a see-through tub with screw cap lid which closes tightly, I really wish it came in a stick form instead! 🙁 The product looks yellowish in the tub, but surprisingly, it is actually colourless when you swatch it! That’s why I didn’t click a swatch picture. 😛
Fuschia says that this lip balm can be used anywhere on the body and not just lips so I applied it on my dry patches and yeah, it actually works well as a moisturizer too! Though it may feel slightly heavy if used on the whole face. If I were given an option, I’d use it as an Ittar (Yup, I won’t mind smelling like a mango) :P. Talking about its job as a Lip balm, I usually use it before sleeping (along with their Arabian Jasmine Night Cream) and leave it on overnight. It feels very smooth on my lips and heals them by the morning. It has all those ingredients like Bees Wax, Shea butter, Natural oils, etc, which help to nourish the lips. You can also use it over or underneath any lipstick to make your lips appear glossy and save them from getting dry! 🙂
• The brand, Fuschia, Doesn’t test their products on animals. (Got to know about it recently, while reading the product description)
What I didn’t like about Fuschia Lip Balm – Tropical Alphonso :-
• Chapstick style packaging would have been more hygienic and travel friendly. 🙁
• It tastes bitter! Most probably due to some ingredient(s) present in it (I don’t know which one). None of us would “taste” it voluntary 😛 but you just can’t help it since it’s a lip product, it will reach your taste buds somehow :/. The brand should remove/replace that ingredient(s) which is causing the bitterness.
Will I recommend this product?
YES! #1 for smell and #2 for the Hydration part! It may sound a bit pricey if compared to other Lip balms that are currently popular in Indian market, but if you see its performance and its ingredient list, you won’t mind shelling out few extra bucks. 🙂 The tub style packaging might also be a major turn off for some.. I am hoping that they come up with revamped packaging soon!
