Christmas Special | Last Day + My Blogging Journey So Far

Merry Christmas everyone! Lots of love and warm wishes to all my readers out there. I hope you all are having a great Christmas Day/Eve. My today’s post is a little personal as it’s dedicated to my blogging journey so far. This is going to be a lengthy post and I am warning you in advance. 😛

By now, you must be knowing that this month, I was doing blogmas. During blogmas, the blogger has to publish at least one post each day from the beginning of  December to the day of Christmas. Usually, people only write about Christmas related things during these 25 days, but I chose to write about random topics as I don’t know much about Christmas. ☺

Honestly, I didn’t even know about Blogmas until late November. I found its concept very challenging so I thought let’s see whether I can do it or not. I was sure that I won’t be able to continue it after like 4-5 days as I am the laziest person in the world and I never take any challenge seriously. But I went with the flow and now I have successfully completed the blogmas 2016! ☺ Today is my last day of blogmas and I am ending it with this post..

A few days ago, I asked my friends and followers on Instagram if they have any ideas or suggestions for blog posts that they want me to do here. My dearest Ms.Chef from RasoiRecipe suggested me to do a post about some tips on having a beautiful blog like mine and about my blogging journey so far. First of all, thank you so much Ms.Chef for calling my website beautiful! You have no idea how much your love, support and compliments mean to me. ❤ My blog is literally my everything at the moment, I think about it 24×7. Yes, even in my sleep! I dream about my blog related stuff most of the times. I will try to do a post regarding website design in the future. For now, let’s talk about my blogging journey so far!

I made my first blog in May-June 2011 and I was verrryyyyyy young back then(I am nineteen atm so you can do your calculations! ?). I had absolutely NO idea about blogging and how it works! ?It started as a fun thing to do in my spare time. All of my articles back then used to be related to newly launched gadgets like smartphones (android OS was slowly getting popular during that period), tablets, laptops etc. I have always been a gadget freak and I still am, it’s just that I am more into makeup and beauty these days. You won’t find my old posts anywhere on the internet as I had to delete them due to copyrighted images issue, but you can check out my welcome post which dates back to 20 May 2011. It was my first post on my first blog which I edited after launching GorgeouslyFlawed.

If you’ve been following me from long enough, you probably know that I previously had a blog called Rainbow Columns. It was technically my first blog which was renamed 2-3 times by me! In 2011, After a few months into blogging, I kind of became bored with it and gave up as I had no knowledge about it whatsoever. I became serious about blogging again somewhere between 2013-2014. The niche remained the same – technology and gadgets until 2015. I remember that my first ever makeup/beauty related post was about Garnier’s BB Cream. That’s how it all began!

I always wanted to have my own website rather than a free blogger or WordPress blog. On March 22 this year, I finally managed to get one and I settled down with the name Gorgeously Flawed. Thanks to my best blogger buddies – Sonali and Shwetali di for helping me to make this decision. I don’t know a single thing about coding so I was sure that I would mess up everything while moving from Blogspot to WordPress. But, thanks to them for giving me the confidence to plan the move. I am so happy that I became friends with these two lovely ladies in 2016!

My goal for 2017 is to work even harder on my blog, make more friends, learn new exciting things and the most important of all – stay positive. Lastly, I would say that my blogging journey (as well as my life’s journey) was full of ups and downs till 2015 because I was clueless about so many things, but 2016 has been the year of ups, ups and only ups! -touchwood-

I hope that 2017 will be an even better year – not just for me, but for all of us! ❤ Thank you so much everyone for showing so much love and support to my blog. I promise to bring you more exciting blog posts in the coming year. For now, I have to end this post because it’s already over 800 words and I don’t want to pakao you guys anymore! Thanks and Merry Christmas again. ☺

So good to have friends through the blog! I cannot do the Blogmas challenge, I posted twice a week since July, but now I will go back to once a week as before. 🙂 Now it’s time to wish you a great new year! May you have a lot of happiness!

  4. I wanted to know more, so this seemed like a short post to me :’D Besides, it’s really heart warming to see other’s journey and get inspiration for eliminating hurdles in blogging sphere because a lot of times it seems like a deserted land wherein initially you feel stuck until and unless a little love, appreciation or guidance is bestowed 🙂 Sonali di is really helpful indeed and she advised me the same.
