Soon, we are coming up to the dreaded “exam season” in India (Uggh!). Many of us get really stressed and anxious as we get closer to our exams – yeah, that includes me too! Well, Exam stress is an inevitable part of students’ life, but there are a lot of things that we can do to keep ourselves calm and stress-free during the exam time. Here are 7 simple ways that will help you to deal with exam stress like a boss!
How To Deal With Exam Stress In 7 Simple Ways
Take Enough Sleep
Most of the times, sleep deprivation is the main reason behind exam stress. A lot of students compromise on their sleep hours so that they can study for a longer period of time, but it doesn’t work that way! If you don’t get proper sleep, you will get cranky and irritated. You need at least 8 hours sleep every single day to stay focused and concentrated on things. Make 8 hours of sleep your #1 priority – not studies!
Listen To Music
Music is the solution to life’s 99.9% of problems (after chocolates, of course! ?). Whenever you’re feeling too stressed or you want to relax after an hour long study session, just grab your headphones and play songs that cheer you up! I also love to watch funny videos on YouTube to take a break between study sessions. ☺
Go For A Walk
Going out and getting some fresh air is an easiest way to de-stress yourself! Take a stroll in your lawn or on your terrace for a few minutes before starting with the preparation.
Eat Your Favourite Food
I don’t know about you guys, but eating my favourite food makes me super duper happy! It instantly lifts my mood and shoos away all the stress and depression. Yeah, I do take light food during the exam time so that I don’t get sick (and I will recommend you to do the same!), but there is always some space for our favourite dishes – Right?! I have also heard that eating dark chocolate helps with the stress by reducing stress-hormones named cortisol and catecholamines so you can try this hack too!
Take Mock Tests
Mock tests are a great way to revise before the exam, especially if you are preparing for Entrance Exams. You can download mock test papers from the internet or just solve the previous years’ exam papers to practice.
Talk To Someone
Go ahead and talk to someone whom you trust! Let out your emotions to them and don’t hesitate to ask them to help you with the revision.
Still feeling stressed? Take a deep breath and relax! Exams are not everything – just try to give your best and that’s it! Once you are done with the exams then don’t start worrying about the results, it will all be OK! Keep a close watch on the Civil Services / IIT-JEE / AIIMS Results online because that’s where they usually get announced first. 🙂
I hope that all the students out there will find this post helpful! Lastly, I would like to wish good luck to all of you who are going to have exams in the upcoming months. I will be having them soon enough so let’s just kill it together!
