Review | SkinCafe Lip Butters – Mango CheeseCake & Vanilla Creme Brulee

Dry and chapped lips are an instant turn off for me! It’s sad that I get them all the time because I sit in an air conditioned room 24×7  (otherwise I sweat like a pig ?). I have made a habit of keeping lip balms handy all the time. When I forget to apply a lip balm, my lips tend to get severely dry and dehydrated.

That’s when I feel that my lips need more nourishment and moisturization, maybe a lip butter! Today I have two very moisturizing lip butters from Headcrafters SkinCafe.

Mango Cheesecake Lip Butter (Limited Edition)

With a hint of Vanilla and Caramel! The aroma is of childhood summer vacations, of stolen mangoes and vanilla ice creams. The texture is firm, but not waxy – it melts and spreads on contact with your lips.

Vanilla Crème Brûlée Lip Butter

The aroma is of pure comfort, but with a hint of mischief. The texture is soft, but not too soft – it melts and spreads on contact with your lips.

My Take

Lip butters are more nourishing than lip balms because they contain butters and beeswax in larger amount. Skincafe makes lip butters in lots of different flavors. All of their products have delicious names. The ones which I received are called Mango Cheesecake and Creme Brulee. Gosh, they smell like heaven!!!! I sometimes feel like taking a bite out of them, but I’m not quite sure whether they’re edible or not! ?  They have the same ingredients, just the flavoring and smell is different. My favourite one out of the two is definitely Mango Cheesecake, hands down!

The texture of both of these lip butters is kind of dry-ish at first, but once you start applying them on your lips, they glide smoothly. They stay on for quite a long time which is a plus point. Mango Cheesecake looks kind of yellowish in the tube, but it does not give any tint in the swatch. Actually both of them are non-tinted, if you want to get the tinted ones, then Skincafe has those as well. Overall, I think they are going to be my best buddies for the upcoming winter season!

What I liked about SkinCafe Lip Butters

  • Free from harmful chemicals or petroleum.
  • Can be used under any matte lipstick.
  • They intensely moisturize and nourish my lips.
  • They do not feel heavy or sticky.
  • They are freshly made as well as customizable.

What I didn’t like about SkinCafe Lip Butters

  • I wish that they had a longer expiration date (minimum 6 months). Lip products are hard to finish, so I don’t think that any of us would be able to finish them in 3 months time even if we use them regularly. ? BTW, this is the case with most of the natural/organic products so not a big deal.

I hope you guys liked my review of these ultra delicious lip butters! Don’t forget to check out other treats from Skincafe. I’d recommend their lip care combos which retail for Rs.1000/- and contain 3 types of lip care products – lip scrub, lip butter and lip balm! Combos like such are a perfect treat for your lips, aren’t they?! Comment down below to let me know which product are you going to try from Skincafe. Bon Appétit! ?

  2. 6 months expiration time frame is really short I agree, but that’s perhaps because they use all natural ingredients. Lip balms with such fancy flavoring, makes me tempted :’D Loved the review 🙂
