Pretty looking nails are desired by many! I am going to share few tips which will help you to make your nails appear healthy and beautiful without splurging chunk of money in nail spas!
How To Take Care Of Nails And Cuticles At Home
The first and most important step. Always keep your hands (cuticles to be precise) well moisturized. Use any kind of moisturizer, it doesn’t always have to be some expensive, high class brands’ hand cream or cuticle oil! Read how to make your own cuticle oil
2. Keep them clean.
Remember to use soap near your cuticles whenever you wash your hands. Keep a dirt cleaner handy of you have long nails!
3. Use 3-free or 5-free nail paints.
They are called 3/5-free because they don’t contain some toxic chemicals like formaldehyde, dibutyl phthalate, tolune, etc. Indian brand Seduction Las Vegas sells 3-free nail paints while Stay Quirky sells 5-free ones. Don’t buy nail paint removers from cheap brands, they are harmful too!
4. Eat healthy food.
Eat fruits and veggies enriched with vitamins and zinc.
Let your nails breath by going Polish free once in a while.
Bonus tips – How To Grow Nails Faster And Stronger In A Week
Many women struggle to keep long nails, especially those who have to do household chores. Don’t worry! These tips (pun intended :P) will help you to grow your nails long and avoid breakage as much as possible..
1. File them in round, oval or squoval shape.
Coffin and square shaped nails sure do look sexy! But sadly, They’re more prone to breakage because their pointed corners tend to catch on things (like clothes, bedsheets etc) and snap off very easily. Round, oval and squoval nails are less fragile!
2. Wear rubber gloves whenever you’re doing something that involves hand activity.
You can get them cheap from any general store.
3. Don’t bite!
Many people have this bad habit of biting their nails. Paint your nails in beautiful colours, it will help you to quit!
4. Grow your non-dominant hand’s nails only.
I always grow my left hand’s nails only (I am right-handed) because they’re easier to maintain. I clip my right hand’s nails short and keep them in nice shape. Also, I rarely paints them.. Maybe that’s why they appear much more healthier than my left hand’s nails.
5. Don’t file them in back and forth motion.
Either file them in one direction (right to left, reiteratively) or towards the centre like shown in the image above.
