Time To Catch Up On Growth With Horlicks Growth+

I was a very fussy kid when it came to eating. During my childhood days, my parents had to struggle a lot to make me eat healthy fruits and vegetables. I always refused to eat anything unless it was tasty! My mom and dad knew about the importance of healthy eating for children, so, they always found one way or another to feed me with foods which contained maximum nutrition values.

When I grew up, I also realized how important it is to develop healthy eating habits at a young age! I am not a doctor, but I have observed that children grow at a very rapid rate when they are under the age of 10. During this period of 10 years, parents should ensure that their kid is getting as much nutrition as possible. They should also keep a watch on the child’s growth to determine whether their child is having a healthy growth or not.

According to the experts at Horlicks – “Healthy growth is gaining height and weight in line with established standards”. You can calculate and check if your child is having a healthy growth simply through 4 factors, their gender, age, height and weight. If you ever notice that your child is not growing normally, i.e he or she is lagging behind in the growth part as compared to other kids of his or her age then don’t be worried – you can help your child to #CatchupOnGrowth easily! You just need to make a note of your child’s daily nutrient intake and determine where he or she is lacking behind. For a healthy growth, you should ensure that your child is consuming sufficient amounts of these essential nutrients –

Protein

Proteins are compounds which contain amino acids. They are an essential part of our body. They help to repair and grow body tissues such as hair and muscle. They also increase our stamina and the level of antibodies.

Calcium

Calcium is a very significant nutrient for children. Human body uses this nutrient to maintain the health of our bones and teeth. It also helps to keep them in good health. Calcium is mostly found in dairy products like milk, eggs, yogurt, etc, and that too in higher amounts. Here is the daily calcium requirement chart for kids according to their age –

1 to 3 years old – 700 mg
4 to 8 years old – 1,000 mg
9 to 18 years old – 1,300 mg

Zinc

Zinc is needed in our body for various types of functions, specifically for our vision and other senses. According to the scientists – “Zinc is such a critical element in human health that, even a small deficiency is a disaster”.

Vitamins

There are 13 types of vitamins in human body. Each vitamin, has a different role to play. They are derived from foods and supplements only, so you should make sure that your child is getting enough amount of vitamin enriched stuff on a daily basis.

It is clear that a child who’s lagging behind on growth will require more than the average daily nutrients intake of other kids of their age, that’s why Horlicks has launched a new product specifically made to help the children catch up on growth easily without causing any obesity. This new product by horlicks is called “Horlicks Growth+” and it contains all the essential ingredients which I have mentioned above (actually, even more than that!). 1. Unfortunately, I was a fussy eater when I was a kid and my parents never forced me eating anything. I am still a fussy eater 🙁 I don’t like being this way, but it’s difficult to change habits. I know that protein is important and other things too. I am not a parent either, and if I were, I would try to create a vegetable and fruit habit since early age! Very good and important post!
